About
Welcome to the vibrant world of Wine Lab, located in the heart of Costa Mesa’s eclectic The Camp shopping center at 2937 Bristol St Suite A101B. This unique establishment not only serves as a wine tasting haven but also as a delightful culinary experience. Picture a place where wine is served in test tubes, expertly highlighting the lab-themed ambiance while adding a dash of creativity to your sip. With a phone number for inquiries at +1 714-850-1780, it welcomes both wine enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike.
At Wine Lab, the cheese platters shine as stars of the menu. Their Honey & Cheese Plate features four distinct cheeses beautifully paired with two local varieties of honey — an experience priced at a reasonable US$25.00. Customers rave about their selections, like the smoked Gouda and honey grilled cheese with prosciutto, perfectly complemented by a heavenly cheese and mustard dipping sauce. A reviewer, Shane B, raved about it as, "the best grilled cheese I’ve ever had!"
For those seeking something more than a standard wine tasting, the cheese and charcuterie platters captivate with the chef’s choice of flavors and textures, ensuring a delightful pairing that accommodates at least two guests. The variety ranges from the Mitica Queso Mahon, a semisoft cheese with nutty undertones, to the hard and buttery El Trigal Queso Manchego, both carefully sourced from ethical producers. Each bite is an invitation to explore the intersection of taste and texture.
The charm of Wine Lab extends beyond its menu. Patrons have praised the friendly, knowledgeable staff who enhance the tasting experience with their genuine passion for wine. Scott Shadley noted that the staff were "amazing" and "down to earth,” creating a welcoming atmosphere for both customers and their furry friends on the patio.
Adding to the experience, the ambiance is remarkable. Imagine enjoying a glass of unique wine under the sun or lounging in one of the outdoor hammocks. The vibrant atmosphere is coupled with a noteworthy happy hour that even runs on weekends, making it a perfect spot to unwind after a long week.
However, it’s worth keeping in mind that some bottled wines in their shop may be priced higher than conventional grocery stores, yet the distinctive offerings and tasting format more than compensate for this. Whether you're a connoisseur or a casual fan, Wine Lab holds a treasure trove of experiences waiting to be uncovered.
So, if you’re looking to indulge in a little culinary alchemy with exquisite wines and artisanal cheeses, make your way to Wine Lab — where every visit promises to be not only a taste adventure but also a delightful escape.
“ The cheese selection is always great. I tried the smoked Gouda and honey grilled cheese with prosciutto, it was amazing!!! The cheese and mustard dipping sauce was to die for. The best grilled cheese I’ve ever had. I hope they keep this on the menu. ”
“ Amazing staff. So knowledgeable about their amazing collection. Friendly. Down to earth and dogs are welcome on the patios... ”
“ I've never had a bad pour in all the years I've been going to Wine Lab. Unique wines you won't find elsewhere, all delicious! The food is yummy & the owner and staff are delightful. ”
“ This is such a cute spot! The entire shopping area is called The Camp and it's great for adults and kids. Wine Lab has a fun and unique way of serving the tastings and everything we tried was delicious! The service was also really good and attentive. Can't wait to go back! ”
“ I stumbled across this cool little place after eating at Native Foods, which is right across from the Wine Lab. I loved that they chose a unique display for their wine tastings by putting the wine in test tubes! It definitely adds to the lab aesthetic and vibe. There are multiple reds and whites to choose from their tap, as well as a few plates and appetizers from their kitchen. This is easy to get to and centrally located in The Camp shopping center although parking may be hard to come by at peak hours. There is bar and table seating inside or table seating and a lovely hammock outside for public use. BONUS: They have a great happy hour that even runs on the weekends! Everything is reasonably priced and the staff were very helpful. The only downside I'd note is that the wine sold in their wine shop area is a bit overpriced when compared to other grocery and liquor stores. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend and will definitely be back! ”
“ This spot has been here for 15 years! I’m still shocked. My wife and I popped in for a drink on a lazy Sunday. I had the Hazy, which was delicious, and she had Rose. It’s a cool spot. We’ll be coming come back to enjoy their food next. ”
“ Great place to grab a small bite and and so.e excellent wine or beer. The staff are super nice and wonderful service ”
“ Thank you, Mars for helping us out choose from the different selection of wines and allowing is to taste before purchasing! I recommend getting the Chef Charcuterie board to pair with any of the wines. I took a first date here after she wanted to do a nice local wine outing, this place is ranked #1 on yelp and google, and didn't disappoint. I did make reservations in advance on a weekday and highly recommend to do so as it was busy. They offer great charcuterie pairings with their wine, highly recommend their mild reds. Oh, and she was impressed, it led to a kiss at the end of the date! ”
